The
Mysterious Schisler Built LEE 6
(Chronological order LEE 5, Special thanks to
Mike Dwyer.)
The Schisler-built Mystery LEE from "Repo Men".
Originally it wasn't clear if this car was a '68, or a '69 model,
but new photos and
information has surfaced and the conclusion
is it's a '68. From the front, you can spot the '68 dash pad,
and the 69 "Charger" emblems on the headlight cover. Also
notice the license plate face is still on.
|
Hump in the dash
pad, like a '68.
|
From this point of
view you can see more of the entire Charger grill emblems.
|

Now it starts getting a bit more unique. A 69 fender is obvious.
No problem,
we've all seen these cars with a mix and match of fenders. Cosmetically
notice
the new California text like what is seen on LEE 4 (the Daisy Song '68
car).
Also, notice the placement of the 01. The numbers are very close
to the
door handle and they almost touch the bottom door line.
|
ROLLOVER:
A better shot of the California style lettering.
Check out the dummy roll bars. Missing is the middle diagonal
'bar' seen in later episodes.
|

I think this is the interior of LEE 6. It has the same lighter,
almost
'yellowed' tan coloration. Notice the interior was apparently all
dyed,
including the turn signal knob and wand--.
|
ROLLOVER ALERT:
Appears as if there is no '69 style backup lights.
|

Another oddity-- this LEE appears to have a towbar underneath.
I thought LEE 3 was the only car with that hardware?
|
ROLLOVER!
I dropped in a '69 taillight photo to overlay and compare.
Look at this shot CAREFULLY--it makes no sense.
Do you see '69 backup lights?
|
ROLLOVER!:
This shot will ultimately drive you to drink, but look closely
at the backup lights
and the exhaust pipes on the overlay. As you rollover do you see
the faint images
of back-up lights? Are they there, or have I been staring too
long?

SUPPLEMENT!
After watching and pulling grabs, I am convinced the "Repo
Men" LEE 6
escaped to California and appeared in "Luke's Love Story",
at the big race ending.
Notice the 01 placement (see photo above). This LEE had no headrests,
it had the
same color interior as the "RM" Schisler LEE, although
the full race rollcage is there.
(Thanks Miked for the history.)
|
01 Numbers match. Very unique location. They run crooked at the
bottom.
And the unique rollcage. (Another oddity pointed out by MikeD.)
LEE 6 from the other side. Same grill emblems as the LEE pictured
on top.
Same color interior in heavy natural light, and the
license plate face is still on. The 01 looks like that of LEE
5. (Hmm.)
MORE AMAZING FACTS COMING SOON.
